Birds of Prey Party

Dec 14, 2010 13:48

WHO: Anyone in the Birds of Prey (Tag yourselves in)
WHERE: The Birds of Prey Party Headquarters (i.e., an undisclosed, decorated room in an office building somewhere)
WHEN: Saturday-ish, December 18-ish, late afternoon to whenever-ish, after the truth plot is over.
WARNINGS: Dessert overload
SUMMARY: Birds of Prey meet, greet and celebrate non-denominational winter holiday cheer (As discussed ooc here and in the plotting meme a couple weeks ago).
FORMAT: Para to start, do whatever you like. Start threads, mingle, threadjack each other like mad. Create party shenanigans or use the opportunity to come up with missions and partnerships.

How it began: Barbara had taken Maggie in on her suggestion, after the whole Joker thing, and talk had generated amongst those in House of Babs about who amongst the Birds they did and didn't know... and out of the blue, Maggie offered to organize a party (because Oracle is always so busy) so the Birds could meet each other, having recalled a similar meet and greet last February. Maggie also had an ulterior motive: to find something to celebrate this time of year, being without her adoptive sisters (their anniversary of meeting is December 24).

All members of the Birds were sent invitations electronically detailing the time, place, and purpose. BYOB. People Maggie who know personally also found hand written invitations in their pockets very shortly after running into Maggie in the last week or so.

The scene: A large meeting room, with tables on one end and chairs around the room. There are elaborate decorations along the walls made of paper, in swirling gradient colors of blue and green. The tables are absolutely COVERED with food, mostly in the form of desserty things like cakes and cookies, though there are savory offerings like crudit<é> as well; she's focused on learning American party foods but there's some Chinese and Japanese foods thrown in for good measure. Maggie has actually sacrificed precious, precious reading time to bake up an insane storm of food (she might be overcompensating).

Maggie, for all her party-ish intentions, is still a shy wallflower and is hovering at the corner of the room behind a table, nervously arranging paper napkins (the napkins in fact appear to be arranging themselves, and keep changing shape).
