CHECKING IN

The team gets a good luck at the town on their way in, and there are clear signs of violence and decay: broken windows, bullet holes in walls, closed shops. The townspeople keep their heads down and their eyes to themselves as they shuffle along, trying to avoid any attention from the armed men in sunglasses that can be seen cruising around in Jeeps. Crime has sunk its claws deep into this town in preparation for the meeting, and isn't about to let go

[Scathach is already in her beach wear, and is hating it so much. She has rubbed as much sunscreen into her skin as possible, and all it does is make her look whiter than she already is. She is currently sulking in her room, door open, practically tearing off her sarong and throwing her floppy hat on the bed. She went out and found the biggest, floppiest hat she could find, and it still wasn't big enough.

Her shoulders already look burned.]

[Jack sees those burns and he doesn't like them. Once he and Frank are settled in and he's fairly certain his roommate isn't going to blow up the hotel if left alone, he goes to check on the team]

Scathach? [Leans in the doorway] Hey, how are you doing?

[spadassin]

[Scathach looks at him, trying to hide her annoyance. The burns will go away, but it'll take a lot of aloe vera. Good thing she brought it. She gestures to her shoulders, and gives a wry smile.]

Decent. Except for, you know, the whole sunburn thing.

I'm sorry, is that a common problem for your... people?

[Jack doesn't know how mythological stuff works.]

[She can practically hear what he's thinking.]

[Nod] All right. Don't know where I'd find one on such short notice anyway. [Little smile.] Let me know if you have any problems, all right? [If she turns out to have a garlic or silver allergy there could be trouble.]

[No, she just hates water. And flying. He is so lucky he didn't have to deal with her on the way down.]

[Allard peeks around the door, dressed more like someone who would work overpriced, scammed jungle tours, than a tourist.]

[She glances up at him, and thinks for a moment. What is the best way to respond to this vague question.]

That depends on what "this" is.

[She waves her hand dismissively.]

[Cue a somewhat awkward pause, but it's time to start putting on his team-work face. He will be working with her in close proximity, after all.]

[She nods to him, and rubs absently at one of her shoulders. She wasn't about to ask him for aloe, though--she had plenty of that.]
