WHO: Echo and OPEN!
WHERE: Some bar someplace
WHEN: Wednesday night.
WARNINGS: Angst... maybe? There's definitely self-doubt.
SUMMARY: Echo's beginning to wonder is she really the hero she thinks she is
FORM: Para to begin then whatever.

As Echo slumped down in her seat in a booth at some shady bar, looking very dishevelled, some would say that the fire of determination which usually seemed to power her had died down ever so slightly. This month had been a hectic one. She had been infected with an illness that had made her believe she was a vampire. People had fallen asleep all at the same, no matter where they were or what they were doing, resulting in chaos and destruction from people falling unconscious at the wheels of cars, for instance. Then a psychotic murderer had kidnapped several imPorts, tortured them mercilessly before setting the warehouse they were trapped in alight, killing some and traumatizing the victims and those who had played spectator over the network. And what's more she was still no closer to taking down Rossum.

All that had happened in the past four or so weeks and she wasn't able to prevent it. Sure, she had helped where she could. But people had still died. People still got injured. Raising a hand to her head, she massaged her temples where a painful headache was originating.

Maybe she was just like Caroline, thinking that she was doing what was right and heroic when really all her efforts were for nothing.

Maybe she wasn't the hero she thought she was after all.
