SUMMARY: After the Joker shows him a video of Misty's death, Luke goes out to unwind.
FORMAT: Quick.
He thought he could handle anything the City threw at him. He was Mr. Power Man. He had a girl who looked up to him and a best friend who always had his back. He had Heroes for Hire, Captain America was back in town, and his friends were always there to support him. Then, in just under seven days it all came crashing down with a nightmare that wouldn't leave his head and Misty's last moments playing on repeat in his head.
He told Nill he was going out to buy more ice cream and to lock all the doors. He took a detour on the way to the convenience store and walked all the way to the neighborhood that looked too much like Harlem for it to be a coincidence. Luke was itching for a fight--it was dangerous, but he had too much anger and other conflicting emotions pent up inside him that he just needed to release. But not-quite-Harlem was quiet that night. Everyone was inside, windows shut, doors locked, and with their own families having as good of a time as they could afford.
Luke veered off into an alley dimly lit by store signs and swung his fist at the brick wall. It cracked under his strong knuckles and he hit it again. Crack. Again. Crack. Until he moved on to another part of the wall to do it again.
