Vesper was seated on the, undeniably expensive, sofa in the living room of her…well, penthouse was the only term for it. James’ penthouse, that was. She simply happened to live here for the time being. She had her face in her hands, elbows rested on her knees as she waited for the proper owner of the property to arrive. The two glasses of water sat on the side table nearby, and seemed nearly accusatory to her in her current state of mind. She could honestly say she had had the very best of intentions when she had called. For the most part, at least. That was, a rather large percentage of her intentions…
She sighed, and let her hands fall. It hardly mattered now what the intentions had been. As ever, they had led her here. There was nothing left to do but wait until the bell rang or the door opened and it was time to face him again. If only she could claim she wasn't, at least in part, looking forward to it.
