You arrive at what appears to be a Japanese shrine, close by a river and surrounded by trees.

Do you:
>Go near the shrine
>Go near the river

The shrine is not what it seems. Upon closer inspection, the architecture is more Ancient Egyptian that has been twisted to fit. Great stone columns support the building, and all the walls are carved with a language impossible to decipher. In the middle, sitting before a doorway, is a large golden box similarly carved with an impossible language and a huge eye.

You feel as if the eye is watching.

>Approach the box
>Return

It's the first dream Terra's encountered since her own, meandering through twisting pathways that clogged her senses with magic, but it's not something was prepared to expect. Things seem to shift around in ways she doesn't foresee, and that don't make sense - but, perhaps, this is because she is an intruder in someone else's mind.

The Magitek Armor leaves heavy footprints as she >approaches the box, curious.

There is something forbidding about it, as if it's warning others of the contents inside. Do you wish to open the box?

>Yes
>No

Well... even if there's a monster inside, or something more dangerous, Terra knows she'll regret not looking more than she ever will fighting.

The armor lowers enough that she can climb out of the nest, dropping lightly to the ground, approaching the box on her own two feet.

>Yes. What kind of protagonist would she be if she said no?!

Opening the box reveals the contents inside. There are large pieces of misshapen, geometric gold. A puzzle of some sort? Don't worry protagonist, this isn't a puzzle you have to solve to get the treasure. On top of the pieces is a sickle-like sword, a khopesh; a sword of ancient kings and victory.

A little surprised at the fact there wasn't a monster in such an intimidating chest, Terra hums a short note of victory before reaching inside for the sword. It's not like one she's ever seen before, but a sword is a sword, and she figures she'll be able to use it well enough when the time comes. She isn't as fully equipped now as she'd like to be for these circumstances, so it's quite the lucky find. She holsters the blade on her belt.

But that's not all that's in the chest... Terra doesn't know what the rest of these things are, but there's no point in leaving them behind, is there? She unties one of the numerous shawls around her waist, and reties the corners together to form a small purse. Into this she scoops up the various pieces of strange gold, emptying the chest completely before shutting the lid. She fastens this to her belt as well.

Now, what else is around here? Terra takes a moment to examine her surroundings before she'll climb back into her armor.

When all its contents are gone, the eye closes. It no longer has anything to protect. But it seems to have set something off, as the world is twisting into something horrific and a dark fog has filled the area.

There's a yell of terror coming from the river!

A trap?! But there don't seem to be any monsters nearby... Terra leaps back into the nest of her armor, turning it around and pressing it into a run towards the source of the cry. The machine is unwieldy in both size and appearance, but when it needs to move, it does so and quickly.

Though she may have hastened it a little.

Yuugi is surrounded by a swarm of zombies, demons, and shadowy versions of himself which are all coming from the river. Had a certain protagonist stopped by the river first instead of going straight to the treasure, they might have been able to move him away from the trap that was just triggered. Way to break it, hero.

There's something about being groped by evil hordes that is downright terrifying though. Yuugi has no way to protect himself here, and he's frozen in place. There's no magical riddle for him to solve either.

His loud heartbeats can be heard everywhere.

Zombies, demons, and the like, huh? Well, even if she did break it, Terra has just the solution for this problem.

Fire.

Lots and lots of fire.

If it were just one, she'd use the cannons, but considering the number, her own magic will have to do. Terra stands tall in the nest of the machine, arms glowing with power, and the call of "Fire two!" sends rippling spikes of flame from earth and river both into each of the oncoming monstrosities.

Who knows if that will be enough, though.

The spell obliterated a good majority of them. Others retreated back into the river. When those things were finally away from Yuugi, he hurried to a place higher than the bank of the river. He noticed Terra on the way up. He has seen her somewhere, with the same machine and everything... But where?

"Who are you?!" Way to be freaking demanding, Yuugi.

"Terra," she answered simply, not knowing he'd expect her to answer to a different name. She sat back down in the Magitek Armor, but immediately fussed with the controls to lower the nest closer to the ground. She didn't climb out, but instead leaned on one of the side walls to get a better look at the guy.

She wanted to stare at his hairstyle, but hey, this was a dream, right? Maybe something like that made sense here. "Are you alright?"

He looked back at the river, not certain if more of those things were going to come out of that damn place. But he nods anyway. Why didn't that girl's name sound right to him? Wasn't it supposed to be Tina?

Does he make up girls based on video game characters in his dreams and give them different names or something?

"Yeah, I'll be fine."

Except Ted Woolsey is a hilarious jackass.

Terra sat up a little straighter, leaning out further to better examine the strange-looking guy. He didn't seem to have any weapons, but it was hard to tell much else about him. He didn't strike her as much of a fighter, either, especially considering the state she found him in.

But if he wanted to be left alone... "Are you sure?"
