(
I know things are looking up, but soon they'll take us down before anybody's knowing our name. )
No fingerprints on the paint-job! It's fresh.
[It's ironic how important appearances are to Victor, considering what he looks like. But there's no accounting for taste. And he does what he can with what little he has to work with. So maybe it's really just sad.]

I'm simply eager to finish what we've started. No greater crime will ever be committed. [ Now he grins. ]

I KNOW, RIGHT?!?!?
[Dave. Dave. Dave. Do you want to hug about it?]
Reply
BUT HE WILL BURY THOSE FEELINGS FOR NOW and circle it, looking smug as hell. ]
Now. I believe last we checked it was near completion; is there anything we've overlooked?
Reply
We~ell, we could institute a rigorous testing phase...but that's so time consuming, and I don't see how anything could possibly go wrong.
[FORESHADOWING.]

[ COCKY SMIRK. Not even going to check the state of the machine, even, after all it does look shiny and new. ]
Would you like to do the honors, or shall I?

...
...I think he's talking about you.]

He goes over to the machine, looking at it carefully. There's no consideration in his mind that this could go wrong, so he flips it on with confidence.
It rattles. ]
Reply
Is it...supposed to do that?
Reply
Chronos steps away from it, uncertain. He doesn't look happy. ]
No. I don't understand--
[ He continues to stare at it, transfixed, when it begins to spark. There's a small explosion from the back. ]
Reply
[Maybe they can hold hands while they run away.]
Reply
[ Okay, this is not the time to argue. BUT HE CAN TELEPORT THEM TO SAFETY... ]
Reply
[Considering Victor can either: shoot a fish at it, or: mess up its credit score, it's probably all on you, Dave.]
Reply
I wasn't -- arguing... but that doesn't make it my fault.
Reply
Well my designs are flawless!
Reply
Whatever went wrong wasn't my doing.
[ Ponders, frowning. ]
