UH MOVING ON... taughttolisten September 23 2010, 23:24:51 UTC
After several terribly awkward hours of full consciousness, Obi-Wan was aware of several things:

- He had apparently bought Fakir a Samoyed puppy named Valiant.
- There was a receipt for seven chickens in his pocket, and four of those chickens were in the bathtub.
- He had attacked Tank Girl and been pepper sprayed/headbutted into unconsciousness before being held in makeshift restraints for a few hours, which explained the shreds of duct tape on his clothes.
- During his wanderings around the City the night before, he had been extremely generous with his money and his opinions.
- He'd awakened face-down on the couch to discover Qui-Gon giving him a look that was as amused as it was disapproving.

Honestly, he wasn't entirely sure which of these things to address first.

Obi-Wan, at this point halfway into his third glass of water and feeling rather less as if he might throw up all over everything, had to take a moment to match the presence and the voice.

"Ah. Come in, Bakura."

Even through his anxiety about the missing time and the strange goings-on, Obi-Wan was aware that something in Bakura's emotions had shifted. He could sense the anger seething under the surface, under that calm smile...

"Not as far as I know," he replied cautiously. "Are you all right?"

...Hm. So long as kids don't throw the eggs off the roof. taughttolisten September 24 2010, 00:30:37 UTC
He drew a deep breath and let it out slowly, trying to project calm.

"I remember... heading home on Friday," he admitted. "And... bright lights, I think. But other than that, nothing until this morning."

Bakura's presence, to him, normally felt like a fountain of soft white light--but now it was shot through with lightning bolts of black fury. His misgivings from the previous week were swiftly morphing into a roiling fear: something was terribly wrong with Bakura.

"...You don't look well," he said delicately. "Perhaps you should sit down?"

Obi-Wan rose, placing a hand on Bakura's shoulder gently. A concerned frown had etched itself onto his face.

"I'm certain my memory will return in time, but I'm worried for you."

"I understand," Obi-Wan murmured, and now he was far more a father than a Jedi. "It seems this week was... difficult for everyone. But responding with anger can never wash away the stress."

He could feel those surges of anger and despair, and with a heavy heart he realized this kind of problem was beyond his abilities to soothe. All he could do was sympathize and offer a father's affection--be an anchor to which Bakura could return, a steady and loving presence.

"I'm fine," he said gently. "Whatever it was is gone from my mind. Now I want to make sure you're all right--that, to me, is a great step in the direction of justice."
