Charlie was sort of cheating when it came to this field trip. Considering she could bounce back to the city wherever she wanted, she hadn't really brought anything with her except her clothes. She fully intended to go home and sleep in her own bed when each day was through, and be back the next morning. Bouncing had its perks.

Bouncing also had its downsides, though she didn't mind at all. She was currently acting as a very, very long distance gopher, bringing in various supplies that had been collected for victims from back in the states so that they could be handed out. She was just handing the last bit of things off a little six by four foot pallet she had claimed as her own. But there was still a line.

"Okay! Hold on, I'll totally be back in like, ten minutes. Don't go anywhere!" She said to the people in light, and to one of the volunteers who translated for her, and then she grabbed her pallet and disappeared.

Seven or so minutes later she was back, the pallet had another load of supplies on it, and she was grinning as she handed them out to the flood victims.

A bridge had washed out nearby, and the attempts to rebuild it have been slow going without construction equipment being able to be brought in.

This is where a super-strong man of steel is useful, lifting girders and helping hold them into place while engineers worked to secure them once again.

Those who work around him have to wear protective sunglasses, though, since the desert sun shines so brightly off of his skin that it's a painful distraction.

At some point when Piotr is in-between holding girders in place, Charlie would bounce over (literally) and pop up next to him, holding out a little brown bag.

"Hey, shiny man, do you want some lunch? I think it's a pb&j I didn't really look." She'd wave the bag at him, offering a grin. And yes, she found sunglasses to put on.

That was unexpected, but it brings a smile to the big man's face.

"Thank you, little one," comes his response, shifting the steel beam he's holding to rest on his shoulder in order to free his hands to take what is offered to him.

"You may call me Peter," he adds, cordially. "I am not always this shiny."

Charlie hmphed a bit at being called 'little one'. It wasn't her fault she was shorter than everybody, dang it! But she let the annoyance pass, there was too much to do, she couldn't waste time grumbling at somebody.

"Sure! And nice to meet you, Peter. I'm Charlie!" She waved a hand up at him, smiling pleasantly.

"So you can just turn it off?"

"A pleasure to meet you as well, Charlie," he replies, as he looks into the bag. She was right as to its contents. And if it's any consolation, most people he meets are 'little ones' to him.

"And I can, but unfortunately I cannot do so while I am working like this. I will have to wait until they have secured this section of the bridge before I can indulge in this feast," he grins.

"You'll have to let me see!" She stated firmly, taking a couple steps back to look up at the stuff he was holding.

"So when you're not all metaled over, you aren't as strong?"

"No, I am not," he admits, as he digs his feet into the rocks a bit more firmly so he can act as suspension until they get the real support struts into place - which is close at hand, judging from the chatter.

"You are welcome to watch, but the transformation is nothing spectacular to witness," he modestly adds. "It is instantaneous."

"Hey, at least you're strong when you're metal, right?" Charlie could find the upside of anything, really.

She shrugged at him saying the transformation wouldn't be interesting. "So? Bouncing is too and it's still awesome."

As if to demonstrate, she disappeared in a flash of pink light, reappearing a few feet away. "See? Awesome!"

That gets a warm laugh from the metallic face.

"You call that 'bouncing?' Most would call that 'teleportation.' I have a good friend who does something much the same... although with a very noticeable smell."
