Carrie sat in the shadow of brick chimney on the assigned roof, knees drawn to her chest and looking awfully small. Smaller than usual, without the bright colors of the Robin suit. But it didn't feel right wearing it without the over-sized green shades. They weren't a mask, exactly, but they worked well enough as one. Until the Joker had taken then, anyway. But she didn't really want to think about that.
She'd almost forgotten Terry had told her Bruce had arrived, in light of all the recent events. And, happy as she'd been to hear it, she couldn't think of a worse fate than being asked to meet up with him now. Now. She couldn't have met him a few days earlier, before it'd seemed like a good idea to use herself as bait for the Joker, before it'd gone a little too far? She'd never pulled a stunt this badly back home, why was it right after he showed up here that she had to screw up so bad?
Ugh. Batman would have fired her for sure, if this was back home. And if Terry's Bruce was anything like her Bruce? She sighed, tugged her knees a little more tightly to her chest. Worst timing ever.
