Police Raid

Seras arrived on the scene, and waited around the corner from the warehouse so she could stay out of sight until the other officers arrived. She'd had to leave the Harkonnen behind as they wanted these suspects alive. It also would have probably set off a chain reaction of panic for every thug in the neighborhood if even on had spotted her with it, and she didn't want to be the one responsible for tipping these creeps off. So tonight she settled for the department issue sidearm, and a shotgun from a patrol car which was still plenty intimidating in its own right.

All she had to do now was be patient, and do her job by the book. She was going to prove to the Inspector, and Commissioner that they weren't wrong when they let her keep her badge.

Jack was wearing Kevlar and carrying an MP-5 submachinegun, having foregone the helicopter tonight in favor of getting into it personally. He had a secondary objective beyond putting this crime ring out of commission- he wanted to meet face-to-face with the man responsible for their success on this case, and who had helped Jack save lives in LA. He wanted to find the Shadow. And he was sure he'd be present tonight.

He took up position behind Seras, crouching. "When we go in, I'm going to head for the top floor to get a better vantage point," he whispered. "I need you to cover me until I get there."

"I will sir, don't worry." She wasn't going to let any of her fellow officers get hurt tonight. "Is there anything else I need to know, sir?"

Third Floor

In his hiding space, The Shadow hears the police enter from below, and he indulges in a small chuckle. Moving from his place of hiding, he opens the door, using his dark form to hide the small crack of the door as he glances down the hallway, seeing crooks head to join the fray, and others making other preparations. He has spent time studying these people since he arrived at their place of safety, and he is not surprised at the various reactions. Still, he watches, waiting for the arrival of one he expects to make his way upstairs.

Reaching the third floor, Jack spots movement as the suspects scurry, pauses for a moment to sweep the hallway for threats. Not wanting to get ambushed, he crouches and moves slowly, checking each door, opening and nook he passes as he heads towards the catwalk he intends to use as a vantage point.

A couple suspects dive into a doorway and it is locked behind them as they cower in the room. Out in the hallway, one of them has dropped their gun. The Hallway has seven doors, three to the right and left, with the final one down at the end of the hallway. The doors are all solid, and light spills from underneath the three farthest doors from the stairway.

The Shadow has heard the familiar sound of a double-tap among the firefight, and froze in place at the sound. Someone is shooting to kill and he does not want to become a target of friendly fire if he has any say in the matter. Remaining still, he watches from his vantage point in the barely open doorway. Sliding it closed with practiced silence, he slips into a dark corner and goes still, intending to let Jack find the ammunition room empty to all appearances. He may yet be able to provide support from behind to announce his presence.
