The network was not safe to broadcast on, not if Keith Anyan had access; pronouncing his connections so openly could prove hazardous for the many friends he'd acquired in the City. Many, indeed; Soldier Blue's nightly watch spanned quite far and wide as he sought signs of the safety and well-being of those people. It wasn't that long ago they were strangers, some more startling than others in their response to his appearance. Rather, reappearance: his future, in some way, was still buried in that silent graveyard far from the tree he would die upon. Some of those friends had seen it. It made things...complicated, in some ways. Simpler in others. Blue had resolved to honor those bonds; they were his, but not truly his. Even so, his routine encompassed those that need never know he was there.
Restlessness at the apartment compelled him to take his rounds physically, rather than just simply projecting his mind outward from himself. It would not be long until Jomy, Leo, and himself were far from here, taking in all that they could of this young and far away Terra. It wasn't just for their sakes, but for those Mu they would possibly return to. It could change things, and in the light of certain revelations...it was a good change.
He would say those brief farewells and assure them that his absence denoted no danger. There was never any sense of certainty when one could be exPorted at any second, but by his own will, he would return. He wanted to, even though his craving to return home overshadowed much. Could he really be blamed for embracing something so much better?
Those thoughts played around in Blue's mind as he flew high above the City to his destinations. Even with those that had vanished, there were still so many...
