SUMMARY: Peter's been given the rundown of the basics by Kurt, and he's arrived at the Institute to meet his baby sister and find out how she is alive again, and to make sure she is well.

It is not the same building he remembers, of course, so it does not quite feel like a homecoming. In fact, he's still allowing for the possibility that he is dreaming, it feels so surreal.
Piotr Nikolievitch Rasputin is sitting on the bed in the room he has been given, looking at how empty it is and feeling a bit unnerved by that. Unnerved by the silence. It is a little troubling, remembering how to talk with people again after so long in captivity, but the alternative - brooding in solitude - is even more troubling. He does not want to be alone anymore.
But he is not ready to speak of such things with Katya yet. If he even deserves to speak of it at all with her, given how much he has put her through. He has had much time to dwell on his mistakes and her perspective of his actions, and he is preparing to accept that she may want very little to do with him. That would be the treatment he deserves.

Those are the thoughts he needs to get away from right now, which is why he is out of his room and heading down the hall to see if Illyana has made her way back yet.
Little Snowflake is not gone forever. That's the joy he needs to cling to.
