Rimmer sneaked away from his fourth dance, and paused to catch his breath. And have one of those strawberry mimosas he found he rather fancied.

"Hallo again, Bill," he said, that same doofy grin he'd been wearing all afternoon still present on his face.

Ah, yes, manly manly hugs. It was good to see Bill away from the Dr. Horrible duds, and the goggles, and all of that. They rarely got to chat face to face, so this was rather fun.

"Thank you. It's all Raven's fault, she planned everything. I was just along for the ride. But I'm glad you could make it."

"Well, you were 'Ported out for a bit," he reminded him with a smirk. "If you'd been gone for this I would have held it against you forever."

"I dunnow. I don't think we'll ever get a satisfactory answer for that question, honestly."

He took another sip of his mimosa, reminding himself not to drink much at all. Top limit was two drinks, period.

"But I'm glad you're back."

He knew he shouldn't ask. He knew he should not, definitely not ask as to whether or not Bill had seen that one friend. Because Rimmer knew precisely who that 'one friend' was. And inquiring about her on his wedding day was not a good idea.

"You're one up on me, there. I have precisely zero friends back in my dimension of origin. Well, unless you count Lister, but I'm not certain he would."

Oh. Oh! Well, that made a lot of things make a hell of a lot more sense, really. Interesting.

"...He's Cat. We're not friends. We were crewmates, and that was it. I never really got on with him. He was just...there."

"Well, sort of," he conceded. "Although his favourite pastime was to mock me and call me names. I never wanted him on the ship in the first place, to be completely honest."
