She wasn't used to being laid up, which makes healing hard. Nico had been hurt before---stabbed in the back by a ninja and almost eaten by a six-toed god going Biblical on L.A.---but this was all new kinds of hurt. Riful pushed her to her physical edge, and if she hadn't been her she would have been dead.
That doesn't mean she looked good, though. She hadn't been joking with Jaime; she was bruised and misshapen and looked like she'd been taken to no fewer than four cleaners.
Usually, she wouldn't have said yes to visitors.
