[Yoite glances over when Lyra enters the kitchen, then looks out the window again.] Yeah. You too... Couldn't sleep?

[It's the only response he gives as he takes another sip from his lemonade. It's really none of his business why she's up so earlier, but he supposes he just finds her easy to talk with and she's one of the only people he really trusts here, so he tries to talk with her at least. Even if he never really has that much to say.

The question about his job makes him hesitate for a moment though.]

It's fine. [No reason to make her worry...]

[Pokey had finally finished the work he had been doing for outside sources and found the time to start working on the extra defenses of Awesome Base. He had stayed the night and got up early and headed to the roof to get a better idea of the lay of the land, dragging equipment and sketching paper with him. He walked over to Yoite as he noticed him.]

Hey. Didn't wake you up coming onto the roof, did I?

[Not often that people visited him on the roof. Usually it was only Lyra, but he doesn't mind Pokey being up there. He doesn't pry into his business and that makes Yoite feel at ease.

He's curled up in his nest of blankets again, but sits up a little to look at the boy at least.]

No. The birds did.

[He begins to set up his equipment, primarily a telescope and a tripod, along with drawing material.]

Really? I would think you'd get used to the birds if you sleep on the roof. [Finishing setting up everything for his survey equipment, he takes out a pair of shoes and hands them to Yoite.]

These are for you, by the way. Lyra wanted me to come up with equipment for you guys to be able to move faster if stuff goes bad. Mind seeing if they fit?

I suppose I'm just weird.

[It was the only response he could think of that didn't include something about the failing senses that came with his power. He just wasn't used to hearing this well. Hadn't in a long time, really and since his deterioration had slowed down so much here, he figured it was a while until he had to worry about it being gone for good.

He tilted his head when the pair of shoes was handed to him. However, taking off any piece of clothing, including shoes, gloves or... Anything else, really, around another person was something he just. Didn't do. Even if he had something else to put on after.]
