Baby's First Mission Briefing! (Xaviers Instutite, The City, USA, 7AM - EST) soultospare May 20 2010, 00:03:41 UTC
Waiting quietly in the front hall of the Institute, Pixie tried to shrug off her own sleepiness in order to encourage her friends and teammates not to think about how early it was. For crying out loud, they'd had to get up earlier for danger room sessions, and this shouldn't be nearly as rough as all that.

As they arrived, she smiled warmly at each of them, glad she'd made the choices she'd made.

Angelo couldn't remember the last time he'd been awake this early. Various movie marathons wherein he didn't actually sleep whatsoever didn't count. A cup of coffee clutched in one hand - his second one in the last few minutes alone - he gave Megan a half-hearted wave as he arrived before slouching against the wall opposite.

Sally had been able to sleep in. It had been great to get her morning kiss, and then be able to curl back up under the covers for another hour. Though, she did miss out on Sam in his uniform so that was kind of sad. She skidded into the room, a little too upbeat and grinning.

"Morning, everyone."

Thanks to his unique (and awesome) powers, Santo wasn't tired in the least. In fact, he decided to just not bother with sleeping thanks to staying up late working on team stuff with Rikki. He casually strolled into the hall. "Hey, nerds. Everybody here yet?"

Sooraya was a morning person and had been there for some time already, but she wasn't quite enough of a morning person to actually open the paperback book which was currently resting in her lap.

"I think so," she said, conveniently totally ignoring the part where he had called them all nerds, because it was Santo. "Megan, is there anyone else?"

"Yep, this is everybody!" She addressed everyone cheerfully. "You guys know why we're here and what we're doing. I'll be our designated teleporter, which'll give me plenty of practice should we actually have to extract everybody from this place to the new one. I've got a couple of ideas as to promising locations, but I'm hoping the rest of you will as well."

Angelo gave a grunt at Sally's disgusting display of completely unnecessary morning cheer, and flipped Santo the bird as he drained his coffee mug.

"Practice?" he asked Megan. "Why do you need practice? You've done this before, right?" Being splinched in half was not his idea of a good time.

Sally rolled her eyes at Santo, and dropped down into the nearest chair. Hopefully this mission wouldn't end up giving her a headache.

"I checked out some places online and I've got one that might work," she told Megan, and handed over some printouts.

Exactly the reactions he was going for. Santo leaned against the wall and folded his arms. "I've got a couplea ideas too, but only Megan gets to know them. They're a surprise." Santo said, looking over to Pixie and giving a wink. This was not a good sign.

"'Course I've done this before. Relax," she told Angelo as she looked over some of Sally's printouts. Ooo neat. France. It hadn't occurred to Meg to try France. "But everybody could use a little practice with their powers now and again, yeah? Especially if we're going to be going this far... I don't know if I've ever gone this far. I've teleported to Washington D.C. a bunch of times. How far's that?"

When Santo withheld his own ideas, Meg raised a pink eyebrow and watched him curiously. "Okay... well it better be good then. We'll try Sally's first. Everybody ready?"

"Not nearly as far as Europe," Angelo said, still skeptical. He placed his mug down on the ground and stood up again, stretching as he pushed away from the wall. "Fine, ready. But if I wind up in the Atlantic and drown, I'm coming back to haunt you."

"I am sure that will not happen," said Sooraya, with more confidence than she actually felt, as she extracted out the folded-up map (with longitude-latitude coordinates attached!) she had been optimistically using as a bookmark. She did trust Megan, but, well... it was a long way to go. "Probably."

"Ignore him, Megan," Sally murmured, and handed the girl a post-it note with the latitude and longitude of her pick. "Let's just get this show on the road!"
