The City can be a very distressing place to live sometimes. Between the monster attacks and the acts of terrorism and the other unnatural disasters, sometimes I can't help but wonder how we even manage to survive it, or why we even bother to stay.

It's all right to wonder about that, Ms Angelica. I admit I almost didn't want to come back from the Caribbean. But habit is a hard thing to fight against.

It's true. Or maybe we're all just gluttons for punishment. I mean, you'd think that if one place in the world kept getting attacked, everyone would pack up and move somewhere else.

You know, I did sort of wonder about that. I think it was after the zombie plague thing. But no, sometimes people are more intent on preserving their homeland than finding a safer place to live.

There's a stubborn streak in each of us. I guess I can't say I'd abandon my house completely, if it came down to it. It's just so cute.

Having people here we care about is also a sticky point. If they don't leave, we don't, simple as that.

Oh, how did you like the rum I brought back for you? Have you cracked it open, yet?

I haven't had the chance to yet. But tonight's as good a night as any. God knows I could use a good pick me up after last week.
