THREE. VOICE.

Ladies, I'm hoping you could provide me some assistance. I'm sure that there might be some modern women hearing this, because in all honesty, some of these selections are quite unacceptable and to an extent I don't want to be mistaken for a prostitute wearing something so revealingThough, I'm not going to be rude and ignore the gentlemen. Maybe ( Read more... )

[There's a half-second delay before Aoi's face is replaced by the Laughing Man icon.]

The Soviet Union disbanded in 1991. It would be more accurate to say that this country is on its way to becoming the Russo-American Alliance, if you want to involve the Russians in it. I don't particularly want to involve the Russians since their literature is usually dry and a little dogmatic, but you did bring it up.

I highly doubt there would be anything like a Russo-American Alliance, even if we did win the Cold War. I mean that we're actually letting the government tell us that we can't smoke.

The Russo-American Alliance is one of three American nations formed after the end of World War 3 in 2017. It hasn't happened yet and you're talking like someone not really from this time, let alone mine, so I guess that's why you wouldn't know. Of course, most people aren't from my time, so most people don't know.

So, when are you from?

It's not really my place to comment on politics, but I can tell you that I'm from the year 1965.

I don't understand either. So many things changed...

Are you from the same era I am? I can't say I'm too fond of being considered a relic.

Cigarettes are terrible for you.

They're loaded with poisons. And inhaling smoke in general is bad.

It should be your choice whether or not you want to smoke.

It still is your choice, ma'am. The laws about where you smoke are so that others aren't forced to be exposed to the secondhand smoke which is just as toxic.

I'll keep that in mind.

You could try the nicotine patches.

But they're not really there to help you quit.

I'm wondering why people think I'm going to quit smoking?

Cigarettes contain formaldehyde, hydrogen cyanide, ammonia, DDT and arsenic. Individuals raised in the 21st century have these facts drummed into them until the 7th grade in subversive 'D.A.R.E.' programs instructing them to obey authority and rat out their friends.

I worry about this generation, if that's the case. I don't think that we went to war to protect our liberty to come back to this.

Do you think poisoning someone should be illegal? There's a strong argument that smoking is doing exactly that.

Smoking is less regulated where I come from. But I've read the pamphlets the city's put out on the matter [because hey, free reading material], and it kind of makes sense.

It's almost as bad as prohibition, if you ask me. The next thing you're going to tell me is that there are speakeasies dedicated just to smoking indoors.

[very seriously] I'm not aware of any such thing. I don't think organized crime considers it a serious market.

But I can't afford to smoke, so it's not something I'd look for.
