You know, I'm all for incorporating elements of classic fiction into everyday life. It if weren't impractical as shit and contribute to a good number of health problems (not to mention get me a bunch of shit for being a misogynist which totally isn't true, by the way), I'd even suggest the revival of the corset. Because honestly, no one can tell ( Read more... )

You're right. Someone should cry about it for at least a week.

Hey, we're only five days out, too. But seriously, you can't tell me everyone's moved on that quick.

No one likes old news.

Then we should get them some goddamn Ritalin.

What for? You don't need people to talk about how it makes them feel. You've seen and punched out worse.

No, but if waxing poetic on it is what gets them acting, I don't fucking care. Point is, as far as I can see, we get all up in arms when a crisis happens, but don't bother to build the infrastructure to keep the damage minimal. The mayor here is luckily not a moron, but one bureaucrat can only do so much. Besides, that's why we were all dumped here in the first place.

It's true; we heroes are very disorganized. Why don't you nominate yourself for hero president? You can have my vote if you ban open-ended questions.

I probably wouldn't qualify on account of not really giving a shit when I kill somebody. But hey, Superman's here now. Don't know about his policies on open-ended questions, but last I heard, he's a pretty reasonable guy.

Oh, and I'm under 35. That's usually a thing.

Of course you qualify. If you kill people because they're bad, you're a hero. All you need is a particular ideological perspective.

But it's not the generally accepted definition, arguable ideological backup or not. Believe me, I've gotten enough lectures on the subject of going to far to know.

Who's doing the lecturing?

undeadsidekick November 8 2011, 11:01:10 UTC
Oh you know. The big name heroes, their plucky sidekicks and everybody in between.

lolverine November 8 2011, 17:42:37 UTC
Even the sidekicks? That's almost unfair. A walking punchline shouldn't be allowed to lecture.

No shit. But that's not really the point here.

lolverine November 9 2011, 03:43:03 UTC
The point being that no matter how often you go too far, no big name heroes or their plucky sidekicks ever do anything but lecture you, because you're on their side, i.e., the hero side. Is that right, or are we still arguing about whatever happened a few days ago?

That's valid, but I was actually trying to steer the conversation back to the elder god attack.
