The children brought here are certainly faced with a unique situation, and I've hardly met a one who didn't deserve scads of positive attention. It's good to see their achievements brought to light so publicly.

They are, but I am concerned by the current CPS response. I'd hate to suggest the DOI take on more -- because the DOI does a ton as it is -- but in the mean time, we've got few options beyond the personal touch.

[Also, you are possibly bluer then her boyfriend, man.]

I don't believe we've spoken before. Roxanne Ritchi -- if the byline wasn't a clue, anyway.

This is true. I cannot imagine a fluctuating population of minors can be an easy thing to keep track of and care for, but... It is still disconcerting, not much of an excuse.

A pleasure to meet you, Kurt.

And it's not just that the population fluctuates -- it's convincing the minors that they need care or help, which isn't easy even when they don't have superpowers, or establishing relationships of trust when they've been betrayed by the system before.

There's a lot of difficult things here, that need to be looked at.

There is also that aspect, yes. It is a little more universal and possibly even more difficult for it. Add superpowers to that, and... Ach. I tend to think in terms of mutant-human relations. This is a phenomena of my world. We have been and are openly ostracized, which adds often adds another layer to the issue. Such as thing is not as prevalent here, but the parallels exist.

My apologies for rambling. In short, you're perfectly correct. Until we can draw a greater response from the government here, it's essentially up to the community.

Convincing the government of that, however, is part of the problem, as CPS doesn't recognize the blended imPort families as stable, though they're happy to pass on 'guardianship' where they can. Normally there'd be more aid going to these imPort families, but I'm seeing less work going in there, as opposed to more.

I -- can't say I'm familiar with this... mutant-human issue, as we seem to lack at at home, but I imagine there are some parallels to be had with the imPorts.

Some, yes. There's generally less vitriol involved, for which I'm thankful. Here, it is not... As extreme, I suppose, but the occasional feeling of alienation and the occasional official prejudice does crop up, as is relaxant in this issue.

I hesitate to say that this is practically easy living. I'm sure that's asking for foul fortune.
