[The video shows a brown-haired man, early-thirties and with round-framed glasses. His style of suit, plaid slacks with a matching vest, rolled up sleeves on a yellow Oxford shirt, and a red bowtie, may have some familiarity to it. He's studying his hand with a look of almost excited curiosity. It's the hands that always take me by surprise. They've ( Read more... )

I heard what happened, Dr. McCoy. I'm glad to hear you're alright.

Well, I am now at least. Miss Mui, wasn't it? I believe you were around back when I first arrived, though you left shortly after I joined the Institute's faculty.

I apologize that I hadn't kept up when you were ported in again. How are you?

[nods] Yes, sir. I used to work at the Institute library. Though I also knew a different Dr. McCoy before you arrived as well.

I'm fine, thank you very much. I'm sorry I couldn't help when the Institute had been attacked. I had just left for Peru.

Ah yes, my previous iteration. I've heard about him, though he wasn't quite the feline I am now! ...Well, I was last week.

But it's really nothing to blame yourself for. I'm afraid I wasn't much help, myself.

Do you think you will get your other form back?

Still. The Institute did a lot for me when I worked there. I kind of feel like I owe you guys something.

I certainly hope so. I'm not as clumsy as I was last time I was temporarily stuck in this one, and it may be easier to blend in, but...it hardly feels like me, to be honest. I get restless having my feet on the ground for so long!

The Institute is always glad to serve any imPort that will accept our help, Miss Mui. We by no means want you to feel obligated, but if you'd like to resume your previous position in the library, I'll be sure that it's open to you.

I think I read far more books than I shelved or cataloged. [this is completely true, if not an understatement. The one thing she was good at was finding the best book for whatever someone wanted to research] I'm not sure I'd really be doing the Institute a favor...

Well, that's what the books are there for, isn't it? As long as you were keeping up with your workload, I don't see a problem with it!

Well, I don't know if I.... [on the other hand, she could use the money to get herself a proper office for her detective agency... AND she'd be more likely to be there if something bad happened again] Well, would it be possible to go back to part time status?

I don't see why not! Let me doublecheck with our administrator to make sure I'm not making promises that conflict with anything else, and we'll see what we can do for you from there.

Think nothing of it, I'd hate to have you feel cut off from social circles you'd become a part of before.
