[Charlie is perched on a stool in the kitchen at Batgirl House, absently looking through a recipe book when she turns her phone on. She gives a little grin and a wave at the screen.]So, I have this really random urge to cook something I've never, ever cooked before. And I know people here are from like, everywhere and everywhen and other crazy ( Read more... )

I've got all kinds of cookbooks, Charlie. You want to borrow some?

Sure, that would be awesome! I only have two, and one of them is mostly really really weird spicy stuff.

What's the weird spicy one?

I've got... [there's movement as she goes over to the MASSIVE PILE OF BOOKS that is most of her living/dining room] Danish... Japanese... Canton region... oh, Julia Child's Mastery of the Art of French Cooking, a classic... and... Ethiopian. Haven't tried that one yet. Some of it is spicy.

[Charlie holds up a book called 'Cajun Fiery Cooking.']

I'm not sure where it came from. I know I didn't buy it.

...Ethiopian?

[After a minute or two a file comes across labeled 'People totally rambling about not remembering stuff.' It contains links to most network entries where people had conversations about not remembering being in the city before, with multiple offenders marked off, especially people from their own world.]

[A minute or two later Charlie herself is back.]

It's only stuff that like, wasn't encrypted or filtered, 'cause I didn't wanna go poking around in people's private conversations, since I mean...there's already lots of examples and stuff.

Ah! Ladies wanting to cook, why am I so far away at a time like this~!

I have plenty of recipes, you'll have to be more specific than...well. No seafood? That cuts things down considerably.

Seafood is gross.

[She says this as if it is the most obvious thing in the world.]

Any particular reason you think so?

It's slimy, and it smells nasty, and it tastes weird.

Hah, you're asking the wrong girl. I think I'm the only person in the City that's had a cooking intervention thrown for them.

Cooking is easy, May! Really! It's just following the directions...and maybe messing about with it a little before you're finished.

I think I'll make something easy. Wanna come have some pancakes? You can help cook!

Dirigible Plum soup is delicious!

But I don't think they have any of those here...

Only in soup.

They grow on bushes, silly.
