[Well, no one ever accused Ames of being an accountant. If she was feeling luxurious, she'd have just enough in her account to afford a candy bar.]

Anyone know of a job around here that doesn't involve the words customer service? It's not really my specialty.

[As for what her specialty is, well...that's not something she's going to share with a ( Read more... )

Depends on your resume.

Well I don't have references, if that's what you're asking. My previous clients were discreet about employing services.

It's more about the skill set. Staying off the radar is a good start, though.

I specialize in acquisitions. [She figures that's vague enough to not be too incriminating if this guy turns out to be a cop or something.] And staying off the radar is all well and good, but I'm not even on the map in this place.

[Code completely understood.]

Middle management or high-end?

[She smiles; nice to see not everyone's a hero.] Middle...for now. I've got my sights on much more lucrative ventures.

Aspiration's cute, but talent gets the attention.

I can put in a word for you. See if my employers wanna give you a trial run for something or other, but they're corporate-level. Won't be pretty if you crash and burn.

[She bristles a little at that last part, but she tamps it down.] Whatever they want, I can get. Your employers won't have a thing to worry about.

[Even as she hits "send" she can't help but think of the last job she pulled for a big client and how it nearly ended with her being shot to death and her teammate getting blown to pieces. Hopefully this guy's employer isn't the type to burn loose ends when jobs are done.]

Heard that before. No guarantees, but if they give you a shot, expect to be put through some tests first. You'll have to prove it.

Solo act or you work with a team?

Depends on the job. If it gets too technical I need a hacker. And if anything needs to go boom, I'd prefer to leave that to the experts.

[She nearly lost her thumb when she tried to set off fireworks in her backyard as a kid. The only place she wants to be on any job where explosions are involved is far, far away.]

Good. Team players get preferential consideration. Get back to you once I hear anything.

[ooc: Would she be interested in hooking up with a sort of amoral merc team on a somewhat regular basis? Without the upstandingness of Christopher Chance, of course...]

Thanks.

[ooc: She would indeed! I was fully expecting her to sidle back to the dark side without Chance & Co. keeping her on the line.]

Any kind of super-power thing?

[ooc: Cool. Deadshot, Catman and Ghost are loosely affiliated at the moment, and might form something a bit more official, and could certainly use a female influence. ;) Boyd Langton is the 'boss' in question, and I still have to ask his player about anything there might be for Ames to do, though...]

Shapeshifting, apparently. At least my face. I haven't tried the rest of me yet. Not sure I wanna risk it.

[ooc: If so, let me know!]

Understood. But there are developments! shotyoudeadbang September 12 2011, 07:25:56 UTC
What, you grow horns or something, or you can mimic other people?

[ See here! Stuff for Ames to do!]

Yay! the_scrappy September 12 2011, 21:47:53 UTC
Horns? Ugh, no. I can copy people. Enough to fool the average store clerk when they check ID, anyway. I'm still getting the hang of it.

It'd be nice if superpowers came with an instruction manual.
