Well, the other person was mostly expressing curiosity more than anything, so if you were in on it, you wouldn't be the first newbie we'd be showing the ropes to.

It's a tabletop roleplaying game. Typically sword and sorcery fare, for the most part. With a clever DM and a decent group of players, it can be pretty fun.

It pretty much means you sit around a table and pretend you're in the scenario the DM constructs.
