How much would it take to make you kill somebody? Would it be easy for you? What if they killed people? What if they killed someone that you cared about, like your kid?

There aren’t any wrong answers, but I’m going to call bullshit if anybody says that they would never kill. Everyone has a limit.

It's an oldie, but a goodie. It's important, really.

Yeah, the morals involved themselves are, but come down to this context, it's going to be just you and every other hero bitching back and forth.

More specifically, it's going to be you and Batman on something else again.

That's what it's always about. [And yes, he knows this.]
There's more to it, though.

Is the 'more to it' just that guy you probably already killed, or marked for death? Making the debate one that's just kind of semantics at this point?

I mean hell, it was semantics to begin with, you've all got your own lines in the sand, and they're so burned in there, it's going to take a truly traumatic or transformative experience to change any of your opinions regarding justice and death. Nobody's mind is getting changed on a network conversation. Not when just about everybody here from back home has been through their own little trial of fire or fifty, defining themselves.

It's just going to be a game of people trying to one up each other on either moral superiority or pointing out hypocrisies, of which, everybody's got their own.

End conclusion, everybody's mad at each other and that guy's almost certainly dead. That's not a very great sum total of change.

The morals, the philosophies involved of everybody present, they're still important, but they're not going anywhere.

The man's life was inconsequential. Nobody will miss him except for the junkies that aren't going to be getting their fix for a while now.

I'm not intending to change anybody's minds here, and I'm pretty sure I don't need to change the minds of people like you. I'm past that, really. I don't need his approval or acceptance anymore, and if he wants to live in his dark little fairytale world where he can have it both ways, then we'd never see eye to eye again anyway.

I just needed to feel people out.

Which isn't the point, and you know it, but moving on.

You keep talking like that, convincing yourself that you're done and over with him, and it just keeps flashing like a neon sign to everybody else. But whatever.

If you say so, Todd.

By the way, that kid with the alternating all caps and all lowercase... you might wanna do some research on him before saying you're of like minds.

[He can't argue on any of those points, so he stays silent, if only because he doesn't trust himself to start with anything other than "Shut up, Waller."]

The one with the colorful vocabulary? What do you have on him?

Well, let's see.

Gamzee Makara, alien born, species - 'troll', they call themselves. Roughly a teenager by human years.

Oh, and he has confirmed homicidal urges and acts on them.

And to top it all off, he has something of a clown theme. Go figure.
