001 [Video]
[ There’s an awful lot of fustling and rustling to be heard, while white noise flashes angrily across the screen. Somewhere behind the static, an irritated female voice can be heard. ]
Oh come on, it said there was a camera, how do I…? Oh, hang on.
[ A loud click suddenly cuts through the noise, and the static is replaced by a very bright white light. Then the camera swings around, settling at last on a pale face framed by long, dark red hair. Her expression looks rather harried, but she is at least smiling now. ]
There. Sorry. Hello. Apparently I can talk to all of you through this…thing. [ The smile turns slightly uncertain. ] I hope it’s working, I’ve never used one of these before. I could just be talking to myself, which would be a bit mental, let’s be honest.
Erm. Right. I’m Ginny Weasley. And I don’t mean to be rude, or anything, but I really need to get home. There’s a lot of people waiting, see, and they’ll panic. If I don’t turn up, you know. And obviously, I’ve tried getting back through that…whatever it is, but it’s not working and I’ve got to get out of here. So.
[ Ginny’s eyes move around the room again, and for just a moment she looks genuinely worried. There’s so much she has to get back to, and she doesn’t recognise anything about this place. But then her expression becomes steely and she looks at the camera again. ]
If any of you, have any idea of another way home…if you know people who’ve managed it, or anything…I’d like a word, if that’s all right.
[ The image shakes a little while she adjusts it. ]
