A head lost and wandering
The body, returned.

I've always wanted to try riddles within haiku. It's a poetry in itself, riddling, but when measured so precisely, so delicately? Simply sublime.

But it seems I have my chance after all.

I try to avoid the obvious Leprechaun connection. It's hardly flattering.

Well, the other sorts of poetry are long.

I do try to avoid riddling sonnets. I find them tedious.

If it takes you fourteen lines to lose a person you gotta be doing something wrong.

Lost? I prefer en route. This is only transitory.

And perhaps transitional.

Ideally, out the door. But the door isn't a door today.

That's why I carry emergency door maker.

I knew I should have paid more attention to that infomercial.

Plastic explosives. Louder than I like to be, but it'll make a door.

[Pause.]

Tempting, but -- [Another pause.] I'd be sealing my fate, breaking out like that. Escapees always look guilty.

Yet another thing we have in common. Soon we're going to be friends, you know.

I would find it threatening, personally.
