[The camera is pointed toward a handful of kids, probably around thirteen years old, dressed in karate uniforms and copious amounts of pads. Two are sparring on the matted floors--which some mike recognize belong to the School of Thunder. One kid moves swiftly, lashing out with moves from a variety of styles and never seeming to stand still for more than a moment. The other kid, however, stands her ground, letting the punches and kicks slam into her padded body but turning the moves against her opponent. The first kid launches a quick kick that slams into her opponent's side, but the second girl quickly grabs the leg and hurls her surprised sparring partner to the ground.

Off to the side stand Cass and Laura, observing their students. Cass seems to have something stuck in her eye. It's definitely not a tear of pride or anything. Her children just grow up so fast. Laura looks less emotional than Cass, though mostly because she looks slightly cross.]

Maria you need to watch your lower left...

[She trails off as her student takes a kick in the side and almost falls over from the force, rolling with it and coming up to face her opponent again.]

I explained that to her four times this morning.

She's doing good.

[Another kick is caught, and Cass's student is sent tumbling again. As Cass's student bounces to her feet, she's met with a fist that she deftly dodges, countering with an elbow strike. Laura's student takes the blow right to her front pads. Grabbing her opponent's arm in a lock, she twists her around before tossing her right back to the floor.]

Um... what style is that?

Mine. It is a combination of many. [Laura does smile faintly when her student manages to toss the other one. And she's finally moving, to pounce on Cass's faster student while she's down.] Learning only one style creates unnecessary weaknesses. The move was originally from judo.

[Cass nodded and shrugged a bit. She couldn't argue that it worked. Her student prepared to flip backward onto her feet, but Laura's was too quick, and soon she was in a hold.]

Okay, that's enough. Good job.

[Cass smiled as the two girls rolled apart, and she moved to help up her student.]

Laura. Why don't you, um. Put me in that hold. And I'll show them... how to get out. [She smirked a bit. Friendly competition never hurt.]

[Laura blinked in surprise, pushing away from the wall.]

Are you so certain you can get out of it?

Yes. [She moved to the center of the mat, the kids forming a semicircle around her.]

[Laura almost smirks, and turns her attention to the assembled students.]

Watch what she does. If she can get out of this, you will all be expected to be able to do so tomorrow.

[Something seemed to catch Laura's eye as she moved towards Cass, and she turns to look directly at the camera, frowning.]

James, turn that off immediately.

[Cass seemed more amused when she saw her communicator, but he was supposed to be paying attention.]

Double push-ups.

[A loud groan can be heard as the feed ends.]
