Tonight, in the City, my bar, The Speakeasy is finally opening! Now, you might be asking yourself, 'What does this bar have that's different than any other bar?'. Or you might be asking yourself 'Why does it burn when I pee?' Can't help you with the second one, but as for the FIRST.
The Speakeasy has a fully loaded bar, a jukebox extending FAR beyond the normal collection - we have music all the way back to when vinyls were first invented ferchrissakes - room to dance, and of course, there's ME. There's me AND Laurie, and if you don't get why that's fantastic, well, can't help you with that either. Short of hitting you with a brick, which'll get people all pissy, and I don't need that just yet.
We've also got a little something special - PAIRED DRINKS. Naturally, The Speakeasy has invented its own mixed drinks as our little exclusives, but we decided to take it a step farther - give something that you and a friend are supposed to drink at the same time. Like the NIXON and the HUNTER S. THOMPSON. The Nixon hits you like a freight train, making you sweaty, irritable, and egotistical. The H.S.T. is like a fucking waterfall of flavor that'll leave you god knows where. And there's more where THAT came from.
We're open till TWO IN THE MORNING usually, but seeing as how this is OPENING NIGHT, we'll take it till FOUR, if necessary. We might have Casablanca playing later. Not sure.
