It's more of a legend than a myth, but I'm fond of the story of Damon and Pythias.

Most people don't make a distinction between the two, unfortunately.

I don't mind going first. It's short anyway. Part of its charm.

I really like that. You don't hear about stuff like that hardly at all nowdays.

[ She pauses to think. It's been a long while since she's heard any Kryptonian myths and she's always been a bit fuzzy on some of them, but there is one that's close to home she can tell him. ]

The myth - legend from my home planet that I have the most familiarity with is the story of the Nightwing and the Flamebird. They're minor deities, servants of Rao and great lovers. The story goes that once upon a time, a long time ago on Krypton, the people were facing great injustice and danger. The people asked for help and the Nightwing and Flamebird lent their powers to two of the people and they became avatars of a kind, fighting against the threat the Kryptonian people faced. When the threat was vanquished, the Nightwing and Flamebird went back to where they lived with Rao, promising the people that when Krypton was in a time of great need, they would choose avatars again and come back down to help fight and protect their people.
