[Hello City there is an alien on your screens today. He is still in the Porter building, pacing back and forth in front of the camera while talking very fast.]Greetings! Professor Mordin Solus, newly arrived. Have already familiarized self with basics of situation, no need for explanations of location or reasons for temporal displacement. ( Read more... )

Care to explain what you are?

Of course. Curiosity natural when encountering new species. Species known as Salarian, warm-blooded, descended from amphibians. Homeworld is planet Sur'Kesh.

... Warm-blooded amphibian descendents. Organics never cease to amaze. What system is your planet located in?

[Information not revealed by canon yet] system, Milky Way galaxy. Curious: reference to 'organics,' distinctly electronic-sounding voice. I wonder- synthetic being?

Hm, interesting. Well "electronic-sounding voice" is better than "British sounding voice". I am an inorganic lifeform known as a Cybertronian... However I am presently lacking in the inorganic department. The Porter is truly a little glitch.

Absolutely fascinating. Must learn more! Who designed you? Why would the Porter alter your physical shape? And to what form was it altered?

My species was not created by another. Cybertronians create Cybertronians much like an organic species create more of their own... merely without the sex. Males and females do not exactly exist. And we are sentient.

My form was altered in order to "blend in" more, despite the fact that my species is famous for being able to transform. We blended in perfectly back on the Earth of the universe I am from. Personally I believe she found the idea of an inorganic being over 30 feet tall too threatening. And she has made me human... Mostly. I still retain my spark and abilities, save for being able to transform.

What of Salarians? Aside from being warm-blooded amphibians.

Metabolism forms defining feature of Salarian physiology, psychology, culture. Think, live, act faster than most other sentient beings. Require less rest, always active. Live shorter lives, but get more done. Photographic memory inherent trait for species. Very useful.

Glad Porter did not choose to modify Salarian form. Imagine experience would be unpleasant. You have my sympathies.

Quite beneficial. I can certainly respect an intellectual species... How much shorter are your lives?

And unpleasant is indeed a word for it. However I have been stuck this way for over two years now. I adapt as I must. It is not too often that non-humans remain their correct species, which makes it quite interesting that you have.

Maximum of forty years, as humans measure them. Am thirty myself. Senior citizen by Salarian standards. Assume Cybertronian lifespans much longer than those of organics?

Also, am now curious as to why Porter made an exception in my case. Not complaining, but would like to find an explanation if possible. Wouldn't mind sharing notes. Perceive that you also have a scientific interest.

Hm, that is unfortunate. Not much time to do nearly enough. And that would be correct, our lives are much longer. There are a few Cybertronians here in the City that are in their billions, both members of the Thirteen... I would suggest speaking to one if you want the finer details upon our origins, although it might be best you stick with just Vector Prime. Fallen may try to kill you, as you are not a Decepticon, or his brother. But I digress, I am nearly ten million, third oldest Cybertronian in this place, but still quite young for my species.

An explanation will be unlikely, unless you manage to speak with her directly and she is feeling kind enough to give you an exact answer. I know she does not lack the power, so it certainly not a genetics issue... Yes, I am a scientist, amongst other things. And I have no issue with sharing notes, if that is what you wish.

Understood. Seek out Vector Prime, avoid Fallen. Thank you for advice! Look forward to continuing to communicate with you. Age absolutely astounding, implies wealth of knowledge and experience beyond normal organic comprehension.

What is your name? Or perhaps designation?

I am not attemmpting to brag, however as far as Cybertronians go I am classified as a genius. I have spent my entire life seeking information alongside finding ways to improve my species. So I can certainly provide you with plenty of information.

I am Shockwave.

Excellent to hear! Am also considered a genius in my universe, although our relative experiences are likely beyond comparison.

Glad to have met you, Shockwave. Will contact you later to learn more, after settling in. Must procure food, shelter- basic necessities first, then continue research.
