My manager was recently ported out. Doing things myself reflects poorly on me as a professional and it adds unnecessary stress. So, here's the thing: I'm actively looking for a new manager, a few stage hands, and a rotation of three or four assistants who will have minimum participation in select shows. The manager will be responsible for booking ( Read more... )

[Tom stares at this for a while. He doesn't need a third job, not really, but the productive distractions have been doing good for him... Plus, it's Zatanna. How cool would it be to work for her!?]

I don't suppose you could use someone like me helping out?

[And those legs! Yep, definitely not seeing any downsides to this.]

Really? I don't need [He gestures vaguely.] to fill out an application or come in for an interview or something?

[Except that it's a weekend job. That could potentially suck! But, she's pretty flexible.]

I trust you.

[Wouldn't be the first to try that one!]

At the moment? Nothing. The day of, I'll need you to keep an eye on the bunnies and help make sure things are in place. I'll give you a walkthrough later.

[He'll just admire from a distance.]

Rabbit wrangling. Got it. [No bunny shall escape his keen senses.] What will the hours be like?

[It's probably better that way...]

Depends. Usually the first day is a good six hour shift, though the majority of the work isn't intense. The following days, it's very minimal. If you don't like it, I wouldn't at all be offended if you chose to quit.

[no complaints here.]

I'm not worried about that, really. Unless... How strict are you?

As a boss, I mean. You say you won't be offended if I quit, which implies that people have quit enough times to warrant that... I'm just making sure the reason isn't because you're a slave-driver.

Not at all. I've had the same crew back home for years. For the most part it's just me, Arnie (my manager), his boyfriend, and a bunch of part-timers that I've met throughout the years or Arnie's friends. I'm pretty good at doing a lot of things myself, but I have the ability to create jobs for people I know here... and I actually have people that I spend time with here. I want to be with them while I can.

I'm not a slave-driver. I've been in the business long enough that if I was, you'd have heard about it by now.
