I seem to be stuck between how wondrous an event this must be, curiosity at what must have caused it, and sympathy for what an inconvenience it must be for you!

Inconvenience doesn't even begin to cover it. I think my microwave is gone! I was lucky I found my phone. It looks like it has a wood finish now...

Ah, lack of a microwave can very often be a most troubling development! Do you perhaps know any friends you could stay with until this situation is settled? They rarely tend to be permanent.
