An existence of endlessness brings with it both endless amusement and endless boredom. Either way, it loses its novelty value after a while.
Toying with the limits of mortality offers so much more fulfillment.

I only speak from personal experience. Being mortal is like Russian Roulette---you just never know if the gun is loaded. It's quite thrilling, really.
