[There's a pause at first, only the sounds of Beatrice's footsteps as she's walking around the City.  When she finally speaks, she sounds for the most part serious, but there's a note of anguish behind the coldness of her intonation:]

Anyan is planning a virtual catastrophe. I have taken it upon myself to stop him, upon Jonah's request. I'm currently surveying the streets; so far...it's quiet.

I spoke to Jonah not too long ago---but I'm not certain as to his location.

But---according to him, Anyan is planning to eliminate the 'Porter. He has also been assaulting various imPorts; the most recent victim being a boy named Leo.

He did---I was able to communicate with the boy through...my mind. He's been badly injured.

I take it he, too, is a friend of both yourself and Jonah?

[Voice; private] alright!

[There's a pause. 'Mu'? But Beatrice knows she doesn't have much time to ask---so she's going to take another deep breath before replying.]

...I see. But...I...I am not sure if the boy managed to acquire aid, unfortunately. Perhaps you should check with another friend of yours?

[Voice; private]

[She can tell by the shakiness and fast pace of his voice that he's starting to panic.]

Calm down, Bakura. Don't worry---I have told Jonah to remain on standby until matters are resolved...so just try to contact him, and the rest of your friends.

[A beat.]

Also...about the Porter...while I am sure she has her defenses---but if Anyan's recent attacks are anything to go by---the man just doesn't care anymore. He's got enough in him to sacrifice anything and everything to make sure his plan succeeds---even if it means his own life.

[It was true. It all was an eerie parallel to Kinzo, in some ways.]

But, leave him to me. Just try to contact Jonah.

[Truly, she does. Keith Anyan...is an intriguing man.]

I will. I have Lyra helping me----so all should go well. But, if not...

[A small, sad-sounding laugh.]

[A pause, then a sigh.]

But Anyan is not one to be taken lightly---and I'm sure the both of you know that best of all. I can't guarantee anything, Bakura. Lyra and myself will try our hardest to return him to his senses and stop him from going through with this foolish, senseless scheme of his...but no one is going to come out of it intact.
