Regular dreams are weird. And they're totally useless.

Has this place changed the way anybody else has dreams? And I'm not talking about that time where everybody fell asleep for like a week.

[A thoughtful pause... And then because he doesn't actually know how to encrypt things, he just switches to speaking Ancient Greek without translations. :I ( Read more... )

Oh, no, I was just asking Annabeth something.

I wanted to say thanks. It's awesome.

Did you get any of it?

Nope. [YES, TOTALLY but he figured it out eventually >3>] Can I come over later? With your present.

Really? [A pause!] ... Cool. I like the way Italian sounds, too. English just seems so... regular.

[NOD. Though Crane can't actually see it.] Alright, I'll wait.

[Nico is surprised by the noise, so he pauses his brand new game and glances up towards the clock to make sure he didn't get absorbed in it and forget the time or something.

Nope.

Curious, now, he peers through the door's peep hole on his tip toes and opens it promptly when he sees who's there.] Hey.

[Nico shuffles out of Jon's way, nodding, so that he can come in.] ... Oh. I was just gonna shadow travel.

[He hums thoughtfully.] It depends where you are, I guess. The Fields of Punishment are really hot, but the banks of the River Styx are cold. [OH RIGHT AND ALSO] Hang on. [He disappears into his room so he can grab Dr. Crane's present off his desk.]

[Nico emerges from the room with a big, dusty book in his arms. Ironically - considering the subject of his post - it's a first edition of The Interpretation of Dreams by Sigmund Freud. Nico may not know much about psychology, but Freud was big on the Greek Tragedies, and the Gods were a bit overly fond of mortals who still thought of them in the modern day.] Um... I didn't wrap it.

[ He thrusts it towards Dr. Crane awkwardly, belatedly second guessing his gift choice and hoping it's okay. Especially with how awesome the X-Box is. He'd managed to talk it out of a particularly disgruntled, scholarly dead man, who hated to see the library in the mansion he left to his spoiled son go completely untouched. He said Nico could take any book he wanted as long as someone was going to be reading it.]
