However much of a failure I have been to you in some respects as a--[A deep and stabilizing breath proves necessary here; he doesn't say the word often in reference to himself.]--as a father, I still consider you my daughter.

[Edgeworth shakes his head and kneels on one knee, the better to be more in eye-level range with her instead of towering over her all scolding-adult style.]
I can't say that I am aware of everything that has happened, and nor is that knowledge something for which I particularly wish at the moment. But whatever you mean to do... take care to be safe.
[A wicked glint in his grey eyes and something approaching a chuckle slipping in underneath his words.]
You are a brilliant young lady and I thoroughly encourage the further development of such a sharp sense of humor.
