[2nd Bust] This CAN'T be right. [Accidental Video/At the MAC]

Jul 10, 2010 20:43

[Having spent most of his time trying to catch up on sleep that he didn't get from the transmissions and voices he's been hearing in the halls, every sound, every smell within 150 feet, even the dark didn't help him much, his senses didn't allow him to rest. He woke up from hearing the screams and yells from another on the network put him in a very ( Read more... )

Darling, did you mean for everyone to see this little display of moody emotions or was it an accident?

[Sheldon sighs and puts his back against the wall, closing his eyes. The traffic sounds outside are giving him a headache along with the smells, the vibrations and the light glare. Even the air started to taste terrible.]

It was not intentional. I threw my pillow at my device earlier and it turned itself on then I lost my temper. There are no "sort of's" or "could have's" about it.

I see. Having troubles adjusting to this lovely city of ours? Or is it something else you're having trouble adjusting to?

[He moves out of the way of pedestrian traffic to an alley.]

It's my senses. They're...stronger, I think and it's giving me one nasty headache.

(His heightened intuition and accuracy kicked in too which compounds the headache. He just doesn't know about those two yet.)

Then you were gifted with abilities thanks to the Porter? I'm sure that can be quite a shock to regular humans when they come here.

If you're talking about the computer, then yeah. I just thought it was some mindfuck that normally happens to us...beamers. I hate that term Import. I told someone to call me a BMW. It's the same damn thing only classier.

[He smirks.]

We call her the Porter. She gives people powers if they don't already have them. I suppose we could all start referring to each other as BMW's, but that might get confusing for people who own the cars.

Right.

So this porter...can give powers too. Huh, interesting. So now the question is, can the porter also take them away?

She only gives powers to those of you that don't have them. She's taken some powers away from people before, or modified them.

I see. Now another question I have. Does this porter do so as a punishment or is it because the powers or abilities can't be handled? Or can they be requested to be removed? I'm willing to guess that the latter isn't an option.

None of the above. She seems to take powers away from people that have too many. For instance one of my students possessed invulnerability, flight, super strength, speed, heightened senses, super intelligence, and low level telepathic abilities. When the porter brought her here she was left with only three of those abilities.

Thanks for the clarification.

[He half-heartedly tosses his balled up socks into the shoe box, not really paying any attention to what he was doing while talking to Emma.]

Oh yeah, I was meaning to ask this. Training. I'm hoping that there's at least a place where those that have these abilities should have someplace to go to hone these abilities, right? And what's the age limit? Just curious.

I'm headmistress of the Xavier's Institute here, along with normal class children also learn to control their abilities. The age limit is the same as it would be for a normal school, 18 to 19. However, there are plenty of people here that are willing to tutor people who aren't used to having unique abilities. I count myself as one of them.

I'm not sure what's going on other than this pounding headache I've had now for over a day. Aspirin isn't getting rid of it and I'm not up for a hangover. That'll only make it worse. I tried that.

So yeah, if you can help me out with this, that'll be great.

Well, darling, I just might be able to help with that. As long as you don't mind help from a telepath. Some people can be rather touchy when it comes to my particular mutant ability.

Honey, if being a telepath means fixing this headache, I'm up for anything and frankly, you're the best option yet.
