I have tried dismissing these flashes repeatedly over the past few weeks. There is no scientific basis for extraordinary abilities. They are a thing of fiction, of comic books.
Yet, since I arrived in this city, I have witnessed events that defy normal explanation. [Brennan frowns. She is clearly uncomfortable in admitting to this. The police forensics lab can be seen in the background; someone's at work right now.]
Any proper experiment starts with an observation. In conducting mine, I have come to the conclusion that it is not all evidence that perpetrates these images. It is only evidence of an organic nature, and only upon the first time I touch it with bare skin. As irrational and illogical as I believe it to be, I too possess an ability that should not exist.
Can the majority of individuals imported to the city speak similarly? Or did any of you possess abilities prior to arriving? If more data is collected and more research done, perhaps a methodology can be derived to remove these abilities from those who do not want them.
