(02) Video - A Eulogy for Shego
[When the image flares into life, Drakken is merely sitting. He is quiet a long moment, and when he speaks his voice is quiet, controlled. More controlled than it usually is. There is none of his usual posturing, or even a hint of the boisterous mad scientist he usually is.]
I received some news today. I...well, I never thought I'd see the day where this happened. But, it has...and I just have to believe - have to hope - that she'll be back.
But in the meantime, and just in case, I want to talk about Shego.
[There is another long pause. He stands up, folding his arms behind his back. There are henchmen in the background, all of them stilled. Each wears a black armband with a diagonal stripe of green across it. None would dare move while Drakken speaks of this.]
Shego was the finest partner anyone could ask for. Despite the sarcasm and the temper, she was the finest professional I have ever met. It is the rare person indeed to whom you can simply give an order and know, know with certainty, that it will be carried out. For her, surmounting the impossible was simply what she did. And she made it look easy.
I never used the word, but she was a partner - far more than a mere sidekick. And much as her sarcasm infuriated me - she improved me nevertheless. I owe her all the success I've had. So to those who mourn her loss, know that I mourn with you. I could never tell her this in life, but she was the best friend I could have had.
[He moves closer to the camera, his voice dropping and his features hardening]
And to those who dared to do this to her, know that you have a powerful and implacable enemy. I will find you, whoever you are. And it will not matter then how many of you there are, or how powerful you are - I will make you pay. That is the word of Dr.Drakken.
