Okay, stop me if you've heard this one.

In a special level of Chinese hell (so the riddle goes), there is a banquet set out. Real lavish spread, specialties from every province. Especially Hunan. Mmmmmmmn Hunan.

Thing is? Everyone has chopsticks glued to thier hands. Way too long for them to feed themselves. So they're miserable and hungry.

Heaven is exactly the same - the banquet, the chopsticks - only they're well fed and contented.

Why?

Perhaps I'm hoping one of them will be smart enough to finally do so.

The ones who are already knew what you're saying.

And now the ones who aren't have heard, and may become enlightened.

Surely you won't begrudge them that?

More like, if they are not venerated, even in death, they will die and pass on as everything else does.

Wow... the after life sounds complex.

I don't understand why everything seems based on what happens when you die. You would think people would be more concerned about the consequences of their actions while they're still alive.

Life is fleeting -- eternal salvation or damnation? Not as much.

That's a good point.

Is there just those two? Does everyone go there?

Most. Some visit their preferred afterlife in accordance to whatever other religion they followed, but they are few and far between.

The Asiatic gods are particularly greedy.
