[Those in the Know would recognize the room Delirium is in as Rikki's. There's a rather elaborate maze covering the floor, through which Rikki's pet rats are currently running. Delirium is seated on the dresser, swinging her legs and watching them.]
Um.... I'm not good at taking care of things, but they're very nice rats, really... They can't die before Pie Girl comes back, okay? Rats don't come back, they only have the one time, like everyone is supposed to have.
Are rats supposed to have wings? I think they should. Really pretty sparkly pink wings. And they could fly all over delivering baseballs and escape from cats... [There's a moment where the room seems filled with little phantom like rats with sparkly pink wings before the moment passes and Delirium balances on the edge of the dresser.]
I'm not going to grow up to be a kangaroo, I decided. I'm going to be a dinosaur, even if the cherry stones are really convinced I'm supposed to be a kangaroo.
