Guess it's time for another PSA about the Clinic on Orchard.
1. It exists! The Clinic was created with superheroes in mind, meaning it's no questions asked and you'll never be asked to reveal your identity. So if you're injured or want to see a doctor, we're open 24/7. We operate on a pay-what-you-can basis, and if necessary we do provide free health care.
2. If you need to contact us, you can reach me personally over the network. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, you can call either the
cell phone I keep on hand for clinic-related calls (212-555-2562) or the front desk of the clinic (212-555-4357).
3. We are more or less always in need of more doctors and healers, more volunteers, and more donations. If you're a doctor or healer who'd be interested in helping out, please let me know here. If you want to volunteer but don't have any medical training, we'll take care of that, no worries. Donations are accepted in the form of money, medical supplies, and coffee.
4. The training for volunteers- which includes basic first aid and CPR- is also available to anyone who wants to learn it but doesn't have the time or desire to volunteer. This especially applies to superheroes. Doesn't do much good if you can punch all the criminals in the world but don't know how to help a civilian who's been injured.
5. We are also especially seeking volunteers who would be willing to transport injured people to the clinic.
6. We have free flu vaccines available. Flu season technically isn't over until April, and about 36,000 people in the United States die from flu-related causes every year, so get vaccinated if you're at risk (a health care worker, a young child, an older person, a pregnant woman or have a serious health condition).
A notice to the staff: If you are a doctor or healer, or if you've been a volunteer for more than six months, you'll start receiving a salary. It's not going to be much more than minimum wage, but it's something to compensate you for your time and hard work. Thank you very much for all you've already done.
And a warm thank you to Mr. Worthington, who provides the funding for the clinic.
Also, I'm looking for a roommate, since both of mine have been ported out. As long as you're looking for a place to live, have a job, and can live with a preteen, pets, and occasionally a roommate's boyfriend, then please let me know.
