He's not in this City. I've checked everywhere.
Even in Tokyo, when we were separated, I always knew where he was. But here... Do I wait for him here? Do I find a way back to Tokyo? Would he even be there if I did? If that hunter catches up to us, then--
No. That won't happen. It absolutely won't.
...
Maybe he's just late coming to this world. [...] For now, waiting is all I can do, as much as I hate to admit it. Until I learn more about the way this world works, and how or why I was brought here. Until I learn where, exactly, Subaru is.
[The video feed flicks on to Kamui, perched up on some building, sipping on blood from a blood bag he stole. Hey, a vampire's gotta do what a vampire's gotta do. His eyes burn gold from the blood, not that he cares. He pauses from his feeding for a moment.]
We've been brought to a new world, separated from our lives, our family, our loved ones, and what's important to us. All so we can do some dirty work for some thing that lives in a box. We're given shelter, money, and in some cases "powers" for those that aren't naturally attuned to using magic or generally surpassing the standards of normal human life. And yet, despite this, all everyone seems to do is adapt to the situation. Finding jobs. Exploring. Patrolling the city for crimes. Spouting out philosophical nonsense and asking questions, testing the depth and meaning behind individuals' responses.
[He pauses for a moment, taking another sip out of his blood bag.] I have a question of my own, then.
Who here can fight?
