No.
But I take it there is someone you miss dearly...

Totally is. My girl.

You don'y have anyone back home? Not even close friends?

Reply

liadrin December 3 2009, 01:19:48 UTC
Back home I didn't do much to earn myself many close friends. Still, I care for my people, but I left them safe and secure. Without me there I do not need to worry.

I am sorry to hear that you had to leave her, though. From what I have seen, however, it looks as if our time here will not be permanent.

bet_on_bolton December 3 2009, 01:29:08 UTC
Oh, that's kinda sad, but at least you're like, satisfied and stuff.

And I guess the non-permanent thing is good. But, then I'll miss friends I've made here. Plus we've got no clue if it's a few days or a few years around here.

War makes many allies and friends, but few that survive to see the end of it. I'm sure whatever sadness you feel over leaving your friends will be soothed by the memories you keep, not to mention being with the woman you love.

She probably misses you, too.

I'm totally glad I never had to be in any wars back home.

And I'm also kinda hoping she doesn't know I'm gone. I don't want her worrying.

To not know at all...?
I never thought of that-- if time would at all be affected by our coming and going.

Reply

bet_on_bolton December 3 2009, 02:19:29 UTC
Yeah, I dunno how it works. Someone told me they went back to their world for a bit and nothing had changed, like everything was how they left it. Maybe stuff back there freezes until we return. I dunno. It seems weird.

No more strange than being dragged across time and space to end up here.
In that case, maybe you shouldn't worry at all!

Reply

bet_on_bolton December 3 2009, 02:47:25 UTC
Yeah, point. If we can show up here in the first place, time freezing isn't so bad.

And that thought doesn't stop me missing her.

liadrin December 3 2009, 02:59:14 UTC
No, of course not. Who knows, maybe she will show up here in time.
Then again, if your world is free of war, it may be better that she stays home.

I know, right, I mean, I miss her and want her to be here with me, but bad stuff happens here and I would want her getting hurt.

Hm...That's sweet.
[Her voice a bit distanced, she seems to be quite moved by his devotion-- mixed with her own feelings on the matter, of course.]

All I can do is say that whatever happens, I am certain you'll return to her eventually. After all, I've heard it said many times that nothing can break the bonds tied by love.

[Let it never be said that this kid isn't entirely devoted to his apparently totally perfect girlfriend]

I hope so. You seem to know what you're talking about anyways.

Well yes, after all, I've seen a great deal in my life. You just need to keep staying strong for her.

I guess you experience plenty in wars and stuff, for sure. What kinda war was it?

And I totally will!
