All right. I'm doing some...uh. Personal research, I guess? For my own refresher, and for some general ideas. Two questions:

1. What do you consider the purpose of giving people birthday presents?
2. I don't generally leave the house all that much. But...I promised that I would start doing that more. What do you do when you go out? Where do you go?

They're meant to be a sign of celebration or appreciation. Though most people give them simply because that's what everyone else does. Because they're expected to.

I'm embarrased to say that I forgot. I haven't celebrated my birthday since I was...four?

I...have not had many opportunities for fun.

There has to be something you do for fun, even if it's just hanging out with some friends.

I used to drink with my superior officer on his birthday. And play baseball with my brother.
