What's this "Halloween" slag anyway?

Halloween is a holiday where kids dress up like monsters and ghosts and trick or treat. Which means they knock on doors and get candy, typically. More traditionally it's about wearing scary masks to scare off evil goblins and ghouls and stuff. It's also a harvest thing. I don't know. Typically it's a good excuse to throw eggs at people's houses!
