God, it's been friggin YEARS since I picked up one of them things... che... you play as a trainer and this professor dude gives you a Pokémon to start with, then you travel around and catch more little monsters and then you fight other trainers and... yeah.

Was it possible to catch a Pokemon called Mew?

Only if you used a cheat code or went to a special event, if I remember correctly. But I was like... 9 years old.
