diary 13 [video]

[Sokka's inventive mind has been clocked into overtime ever since he entered the World of Tomorrow. The video flickers on, where he is attempting to combine a toaster and an alarm clock.]

Man... the parts just got tinier and tinier didn't they? Did they get mice to build this stuff?

Are you actually doing what I think you're doing? Why would anyone want to combine a toaster and an alarm clock? It'll get you double paperwork for a month, I swear.

If I ever had a clue what you were talking about, sure, I'd agree. If it makes you feel better.

[goes back to tinkering]

Well, it's a good idea, but it will fail every time. That is, you did make sure that the springs in the clock touched the coils in the toaster right?

I've done this before... it always failed.

... It's a digital clock.

There are no springs. What are you even talking about?

Mice.

You are not particularly intelligent, are you.

Interesting. And what is the purpose of that?

Well, this is a clock. [gesture.]

And this is toast. You eat it!

[BITE. MM.] See?

Hey, thanks.

Now if only they invented screws regular sized hands could hold.

So I'm guessing that you're setting the clock to make breakfast when you wake up

Well most of those were put in by machine in the first place.

[Chuckles] I was under the impression you humans knew a little something about technology. Or do you come from a world that's still using pointy sticks?

I happen to think pointy sticks are pretty handy!

[This time it's full-out laughter] For hunting other animals perhaps, but they won't do you much good when working with technology. [He wiggles his fingers and makes a mystified expression at the mention of "technology" in an attempt to patronize.] Did it ever occur to you that using smaller parts is more efficient?
